Use These Tips To Make Your Dog Behave

If you have a puppy, you certainly know how frustrating and frantic the process is. Yet it is well worth it, especially since a trained dog is generally considered safer, more loyal and far more enjoyable to be around. There are many great and gentle ways to effectively train your dog. Patience and consistency are key things to have in puppy training. Schedule half an hour each day to train your dog and no more. If you spend a longer amount of time training your dog, they are going to get bored.

It takes a while for a dog to get comfortable in a crate. Don’t take it too fast; introduce the dog at his own pace. Once your dog is accustomed to being in the crate, try closing the door and giving your pet a treat through the wire. Start off with small periods, for example 10 seconds or so, and gradually increase crate time. If the dog becomes upset, then you need to take a step back and slow down the training.

Chew Toys

Make sure your teething puppy has a bunch of chew toys readily available to him, and keep other things he likes to chew on away from him. Replace the item immediately with one of the dog’s own chew toys. If your puppy needs to chew because he is teething, try a frozen washcloth.

Stay very consistent and persistent when starting your crate training regimen. Whenever you let your puppy out of the crate, he must be given the immediate chance to go potty. As time passes, your puppy will start to be able to use the restroom at the appropriate times.

Using the above advice will reduce the frustration you feel when training your dog. This will help make your home, your pet and other people around you much safer. These techniques make the entire puppy training experience much less of an ordeal.
