All dogs, no matter how big or small, have the same kind of mindset to them. If this is not taken into account when training, the sessions will not be effective. For those that don’t understand that mindset, read on to gain some insight.
When crate training your new puppy or dog, there are a few tricks you can apply. Many dogs are intimidated by the crate. To cure this, place something they enjoy in it and shut the door. Temptation wins with this exercise; your dog will be eager to enter the crate when a treat is waiting for him. Once they go in the crate, praise them so that they know they did well.
Have a good reward system when training your dog. Knowing when to give him a treat, and how much, is paramount. Unless you administer praise and treats as soon as the dog exhibits the desired behavior, he will not be able to connect the behavior to the treat.
Get your dog the proper nutrition required for canine health. If the dog’s diet is poor, it is not good for their health. It not only makes your dog unhealthy but can make him misbehave as well. Simply enhancing a dog’s diet can make a big difference in its receptiveness to training.
Chew Toys
In an effort to alleviate your puppy’s teething pain, give him plenty of chew toys. You also need to try to have other items he might chew on out of his reach. Give the dog one of its own chew toys right away. Try a frozen washcloth to alleviate the pain of teething for your puppy.
Learning your dogs individuality is an important step when training your dog. It can also make canine training more effective. One must simply combine this insight into canine behavior with a bit of hard work.
