A trained dog is a happy dog. When you are consistent with your dog, he knows what to expect. After proper training there will be less to worry about and you will be able to live him or her home alone with confidence. Though it might seem like a difficult task, you and your dog will have many rewarding times together, sharing the tricks and companionship that you’ve come to know through the puppy training sessions.
Set a schedule and routine for feeding your dog from the very beginning of your relationship. Training your pet to expect when to get food will teach him a feeding schedule in which he could adhere to. Shortly, the dog will start finishing their food well before you plan to take the dish away.
Your dog may not learn a command right away. It may take 25-50 tries before your dog understands a command consistently and thoroughly. Firmly and steadily repeat the command. Remain patient and eventually the command will be learned.
It is a simple task to teach a dog how to roll over, just be sure to keep some dog treats handy! Firstly, have the dog lie down. Then hold the treat at the side of the dog’s head and move it around it’s face to the other side. He should follow the treat with his nose, causing him to roll his whole body over. While rolling, use your vocal command. Be patient if they don’t get it right away; they’ll get it soon enough!
Most of all, training a dog lays out the dog/owner relationship rules. You enjoy each other much more once those guidelines are outlined. Remember that reinforcement is important if you want your dog to retain his new skills. Remain aware of his behaviors, and always stay consistent with praise and punishment. When the time comes that you have trained your dog in the basics, the things you and he can achieve have no limit.
