Training your dog well will lead to happiness for the both of you. A well-trained dog means that you both know what to expect from each other. Once your dog is trained, you’ll feel more comfortable leaving him inside the house alone, having visitors over with him around and taking him with you out in public. Although not easy, the amount of time devoted to training your dog tricks and manner will be well-spent time.
Make the dog know that the crate is it’s home when you are doing crate training. You should put their food in the crate when they eat, but leave the door open. The dog will recognize the crate as having delicious food.
Unless you offer a distraction or stimulus, your dog will probably focus exclusively on a single thing. With enough training, your dog should be able to pay more attention to your orders.
Training your dog to start rolling over is easy, but be sure to have some treats. Begin by getting the dog to lay down. Next, hold the treat close to the floor near its head, and bring it up over the dog’s head as you place it on the other side. He should roll his body over while following the treat. Say “roll over” as he performs the action so that he’ll learn the command. This may take time, so don’t become frustrated.
Above all, the goal of a training program is to set well-defined expectations for your pet. Your relationship with other people is strengthened by shared respect and mutual understanding; a relationship with your pet is no different. Continue to reinforce all learned behaviors. Remain aware of his behaviors, and always stay consistent with praise and punishment. When your dog has learned everything that is basic, you can try more advanced things.
