Your home will soon be a peaceful one when training your dog. Try out a few of the following suggestions. They might be useful in your attempts to form a healthy bond with your dog.
When your dog behaves well in a training session, reward him in a calm manner. Giving a reward for an appropriate behavior is correct, but do it quickly and move on. You may feel great about it, but you don’t want to make the pup feel over-excited. You should stay calm and then give the reward.
You should not tie up multiple dogs where they can reach each other, no matter how friendly they are. If there chains become entangled with one another it could lead to an injury. In the worst case, a large dog might be able to strangle or crush a smaller one, entirely by accident, while trying to free itself.
Make sure you aren’t enforcing bad behavior without meaning to. Don’t give your dog any attention or treats when he is being bad. If you wish to keep your dog from begging for table scraps, don’t encourage him by slipping him a morsel one night or allowing others to do so.
Teaching any dog how to roll over can be pretty easy. Make sure you’ve got a few tasty treats handy before beginning. The first step is to get the dog to lay down. The next step is to hold a treat close to the floor by the dog’s head then continue to move the treat over his head until you reach the other side. The dog ought to follow his treat with the nose, prompting him to flop his entire body over. Be sure to say ROLL OVER as your dog is rolling. Eventually, he will learn to perform the trick upon command. Do not get mad if it takes several tries. Once they learn this particular trick, they will be popular at the dog park!
It doesn’t matter what your dog’s age is. The information here can still make a difference. Patience in your training will serve you well. Your life will be better when you put in the time necessary to succeed.
