Do Not Let Your Rowdy Pup Rule Your Life

To form the right relationship with your dog, that engenders obedience, quality training is the key. That said, it isn’t an easy endeavor. Keep the following tips in mind during canine training.

Make sure you remain controlled when rewarding your dog. If your dog is responding to your commands and is not overly excited, give him a treat. If you get excited, the dog will become excited and everything will be out of control. Stay calm, require calm from the dog, and give the reward.

Do your best to keep your dog active through the day. Almost all dogs have short attention spans. A dog without interest in what you’re doing is more difficult to train. Your dogs will obey more quickly if you keep them well exercised. Take your dog on long walks or runs.

Never tie two or more dogs in close vicinity to one another. Doing so could cause injuries to the dogs if they become entangled in the chains and attempt to free themselves. A larger dog could cause a tangle so bad that the smaller dog could be choked by the leash.

When you are house training your puppy, remember, what goes in, must come out. Feed your dog a high-quality diet three times a day. That way, you will know when the dog likely needs to go out and can prevent accidents.

Choose a crate that fits your dog properly and use it to crate train them. Your little puppy will get bigger, remember! Choose a crate that works both for puppy and mature sizes. Generally speaking, your pet should be able to circle, sit and sleep without discomfort.

You want your dogs to listen. Everything you just read is appropriate for use in training your dog to be a better and more obedient member of the family. Even if your pet doesn’t perform admirably during the first session, forge onward. Dogs learn by repetition and consistency, and the more you know, the better equipped you are to train your dog properly.
